The “Best Food Foun­der 2019“ is a new pitch event for the Ger­man-spea­king start-up sce­ne, taking place on Octo­ber 8th at the world’s lar­gest pro­du­ce tra­de fair, the Anu­ga, in Colo­gne. The event cele­bra­tes inno­va­ti­ve food foun­ders and their start-ups. Tog­e­ther ProSiebenSat.1 Acce­le­ra­tor and Hack AG, one of the lea­ding manu­fac­tu­rers of bak­e­ry and con­fec­tion­a­ry goods, are offe­ring the most inno­va­ti­ve foun­der and their busi­ness a TV media packa­ge valued at 250,000 Euro and will pro­vi­de an oppor­tu­ni­ty for start-ups to gain a foot­hold in the Ger­man mar­ket. The pitch event will be held on the Culi­na­ry Sta­ge (Hall 7) from 2pm to 3pm. 

Five start-ups will be invi­ted to pre­sent their busi­ness plan and start-up sto­ry befo­re a jury of indus­try experts. All fina­lists are invi­ted to join the exclu­si­ve Anu­ga CEO din­ner fol­lowing the event and will also have the chan­ce to pre­sent their busi­ness to more than 350 key sta­ke­hol­ders in the food indus­try through net­wor­king events orga­ni­zed by the Insti­tu­te of Culi­na­ry Art (ICA).

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

Ger­man-spea­king start-ups are able to sub­mit their pitch deck until Sep­tem­ber 16th. Com­pa­nies should have an inno­va­ti­ve con­su­mer busi­ness model with sca­ling poten­ti­al, an estab­lis­hed pro­duct or ser­vice and a busi­ness plan with a con­cre­te mone­tiz­a­ti­on stra­te­gy. Start-ups will be noti­fied from Sep­tem­ber 20th if they have been selec­ted for the “Best Food Foun­der 2019” fina­le on Octo­ber 8th at the Anuga.

THE JURY — Food & Media Experts

The jury con­sists of inves­tors and repre­sen­ta­ti­ves from the media, retail and com­mer­ce sec­tors. The five cho­sen entre­pre­neurs have the chan­ce to win over the jury in a five-minu­te pre­sen­ta­ti­on, fol­lo­wed by a short Q&A ses­si­on. Inge Stei­ner will act as the mode­ra­tor for the event. The win­ner will be announ­ced befo­re a live audi­ence at the end of the event.
