The “Best Food Founder 2019“ is a new pitch event for the German-speaking start-up scene, taking place on October 8th at the world’s largest produce trade fair, the Anuga, in Cologne. The event celebrates innovative food founders and their start-ups. Together ProSiebenSat.1 Accelerator and Hack AG, one of the leading manufacturers of bakery and confectionary goods, are offering the most innovative founder and their business a TV media package valued at 250,000 Euro and will provide an opportunity for start-ups to gain a foothold in the German market. The pitch event will be held on the Culinary Stage (Hall 7) from 2pm to 3pm.
Five start-ups will be invited to present their business plan and start-up story before a jury of industry experts. All finalists are invited to join the exclusive Anuga CEO dinner following the event and will also have the chance to present their business to more than 350 key stakeholders in the food industry through networking events organized by the Institute of Culinary Art (ICA).
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
German-speaking start-ups are able to submit their pitch deck until September 16th. Companies should have an innovative consumer business model with scaling potential, an established product or service and a business plan with a concrete monetization strategy. Start-ups will be notified from September 20th if they have been selected for the “Best Food Founder 2019” finale on October 8th at the Anuga.

THE JURY — Food & Media Experts
The jury consists of investors and representatives from the media, retail and commerce sectors. The five chosen entrepreneurs have the chance to win over the jury in a five-minute presentation, followed by a short Q&A session. Inge Steiner will act as the moderator for the event. The winner will be announced before a live audience at the end of the event.
